We’re passionate about making a difference and helping to create a better future for our planet. PRESERVING TIBETAN HERITAGE Our hearts are in Nepal—atop the world's highest mountain peaks, across pristine lakes and picturesque landscapes, and deep inside ancient temples and quaint villages. We love Nepal, and pre serving its culture and history is at the heart of our business. The tradition of harvesting natural fibers to be dyed and spun into yarn is a skill set learned over many years and passed down through generations. This practice predates trade on the Silk Road by 2,000+ years, so preserving these traditions is essential to keeping the culture of Nepal and the weaving industry alive. That's why we have partnered with Nepalese communities by providing resources to educate the new generations of young people in Nepal. Refugees escaping China's Tibet are empowered to run schools for their children and youth in the community. Our goal is to help preserve the history and culture of Nepal for many generations to come and continue its awe-inspiring legacy of trade. School for Tibetan Children Introducing the MOST PLANET FRIENDLY RUGS IN THE WORLD HUMAN POWERED PURITY In a world challenged by global warming and rising sea levels, J.D. Staron has taken action; by creating the world’s most eco-friendly collection of rugs. At the forefront of extreme environmentalism, founder Jakub Staron has created a product that is completely chemical-free, hand-woven and hand-washed without compromising the tactile and pleasing sensory experience that rugs produce. PURE WEAVING WEAVING is one of humankind’s oldest skills and has played a critical role in every ancient society. J.D. Staron has embraced the classical roots of the trade by employing techniques free of chemicals and external power sources. Returning to the original form of weaving has allowed us to produce a sustainable and planet-friendly collection. PURE PRODUCTION SCHEDULE J.D. Staron yarn comes from free-grazing sheep. It is hand-clipped, hand-washed, and hand-spun. We don’t use chemicals, dye, or soap. Our rugs are entirely hand-knotted to perfection with naturally processed yarns. To finish the process and soften the pile, we rewash them in pure water and organic oil from neem plants.

  • Bloodcell Rug | JD Staron

JD Staron's Red Blood Cells Collection fuses nature, art, and technology, creating luxurious tufted carpets from digitized images of red blood cells. Programmed by a robot, these organic designs symbolize the harmony between natural forms and human achievements. A stunning blend of texture, color, and pattern, offering timeless elegance for any space. As AI becomes more a part of daily life, we find ourselves further removed from our organic reality. Especially when technology's limitless potential transforms our reality's production; this dynamic inspired a fascinating experiment juxtaposing nature and technology in art. The idea for this floor art piece comes from digitalized images of red blood cells. In the past, making a carpet or tapestry like this would only be possible by hand. Now we can feed digital images to a robot capable of producing beautifully. Textural works of art, completely made out of natural yarns. CROSSROADS OF NATURE AND TECHNOLOGY The natural mohair and eucalyptus fibers create lush carpets with perfectly detailed red blood cells. The carpet is finished with human touches and loose threads clipped by experienced weavers. RED BLOOD CELLS Red blood cells are symbolic of all the organic shapes found in nature and inside us! We combined nature, art, technology, and human achievements by programming a robot to tuft a carpet made up of digitized images of red blood cells. The results are absolutely gorgeous!
