SPONSORING SCHOLARSHIPS TO
THE TIBETAN BOARDING SCHOOL
Nestled in the Himalayas, surrounded by breathtaking mountain ranges, lies Nepal. The snow-capped peaks are home to a rich and vibrant culture, deeply rooted in tradition and heritage. This is where the artisans of the Tibetan carpet trade have made their home, preserving ancient techniques and skills passed down through generations.
We have been working with this community since the inception of JD Staron, and over the past 20 years, we have forged strong bonds with the Tibetan carpet artisans. In recent years, we sought a way to further support the people who contribute so much to our handmade rugs. That’s when we were connected with the Tibetan Boarding School in Kathmandu.
Since 2020, we have been sponsoring full-term scholarships for Tibetan children, enabling them to attend school and receive a comprehensive education. Their curriculum includes core subjects such as Tibetan, Nepali, English, Mathematics, and Science, as well as Social Studies, Dance, Music, and Drawing.

By providing children with a strong educational foundation, we are not only helping to preserve Tibetan culture, but also opening up opportunities for their future. We are proud to give back to the children of Tibet, and Jakub recently visited the school to see firsthand how they are progressing and to learn more about their daily experiences.
